Ivan Kopas.
“Work for something because it is good, not just because it stands a chance to succeed.” — Vaclav Havel.
In 1971, Ivan’s parent’s escaped communist Czechoslovakia and came to America with a suitcase and a dream. Thirty years later, in 2001 Ivan graduated from law school and proudly took the Oath of Admission to the Florida Bar swearing to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and pledging to “never reject the cause of the defenseless or oppressed.” Since then, and for twenty years, Ivan has prosecuted and defended the rights of clients as diverse as the people who make up our great country — the rich, the poor, the in-between, individuals, corporations, the accused, the mentally ill.
In addition to being a lawyer, Ivan is a professional musician. Ivan’s approach to law is the same as his approach to music – “it must be composed by ear, feeling and instinct, not by rule.”
